Blanchard Mountain

Birders

Blanchard Mountain and the Samish flats have become a bird watchers Mecca in the Pacific Northwest. On any given day you will most likely see bald eagles soaring  above or  perched on  a majestic fir or cedar high on the mountain side. Blanchard Mountain is home to a wide variety of forest dwelling birds and raptors.

We hope the DNR and the State Legislature, together with Skagit County, can find a way to manage Blanchard Mountain and Chuckanut Mountain for recreational uses rather than timber production. The Burlington school district may not have to suffer any financial loss if everybody is willing to be creative and give Blanchard Mountain over to the people of the area to enjoy now and in the future.
